The celebration of the
Sacrament of Confirmation will be on Sunday, May 25th at 3:00p.m.
It will be administered by our Auxiliary Bishop Rene Valero.

gowns will be distributed during this meeting)

Rev. Msgr. Faustino Cordero.
Pastor
Rev. Msgr. Cordero came
from Colombia in 1978 after serving for 7 years as a pastor in several
parishes around the country. He studied at La Salle University and the
Archdiocesan Seminary in Bogotá.
Msgr. Cordero has served
for 25 years in the Diocese of Brooklyn-Queens. First he served as a Vicar
in St. Barabara’s parish, Our Lady of Fatima, and St. Rita’s Church in
Long Island City. In 1992 he became Pastor of Saint Rocco’s Church where
he has been dedicated not only to the church and it’s parishioners but
also to some pastoral activities of the Diocese. |

Karen Lee Salinas
Religion Education Coordinator
She has served Saint Rocco’s Church since 1992. Here she began
voluntarily to teach music to the children at St. Rocco’s throughout the
Religion Education Program. In 1998 she became Administrative Assistant.
The same year she became Religious Education Coordinator. In the year 2000
Karen volunteered her services to the Parish Council. |

Maria
Eugenia Borja
Secretary
Maria Eugenia is a bilingual secretary on Saturdays. She was a member
of the Daughters of Mary and Catechist for several years. She is now
attending Stony Brook University and she travels from the campus to the
church every Saturday in order to serve our community.

Mrs. Josephine Passaretti
Secretary
Mrs. Passaretti has served Saint Rocco’s Church since 1998 as a
receptionist/secretary in the morning from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon. She is
a very dedicated worker and she enjoys serving our parishioners

Michelle Ormond
Bulletin Editor, Translator
Michelle’s
history with Saint Rocco’s began in 1992 when she started working at the
rectory as a part time secretary. Michelle became active with the youth
group, where she helped organize fund raisers, vigils, and social activities
for the parish. In 1994 She was selected as one of the first members of the Catechists team,
preparing children for their First Holy Communion. In 1995, she was named
bulletin editor.
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree from
New York University and is currently studying for her Master’s Degree. |
