Our Mission

Here at Saint Rocco's Church, we are a family dedicated to teach and preserve the precepts of the Catholic Church. As church leaders and parishioners we find it rewarding to continue to praise the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and to continue spreading that word to our future generations. The Love of our Lord is demonstrated through this Holy Church and in every activity that we provide to our church members and the community.

Saint Rocco's Church  commitment and goals

The catholic community of Saint Rocco at Sunset Park, Brooklyn welcomes every person who wants to share a life of unity, understanding, and mutual respect. The most beautiful characteristic of this community is that we are blessed with a diversity of cultures and traditions. When we gather around the Eucharistic banquet we recognize our unique commitment, which is to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Saint Rocco is well known as an oasis of peace, mutual charity, and an open dialogue for the community. We eagerly desire to strengthen spiritually through our liturgies and at the same time we strive for new parishioners and encourage those who have left to return to become once again active members.

We promote and support the preparation of church lay leaders who become a testimony of our Catholic Faith. The joy and enthusiasm of our Faith gets its plenitude in the moment of the Eucharist where the life of our brothers and sisters in Christ get a true spiritual meaning.

We are eager to help each other. In order to promote the spiritual growth of our families and the neighborhood according to the morals and principles of the Catholic Faith, we have an apostolic movement through secular groups. The groups consist of the Sacred Heart of Jesus confraternity, the Christian family movement, the daughters of Mary, the Prayer circle, the Christian life youth group, the Biblical assemblies of Saint Rocco, and Pre-baptismal preparation.

Particular dedication and undertaking is given to the daughters of Mary, the Christian life youth group, and the religious education due to the importance that they have in educating our young children of the community. They are tomorrow’s hope and the future of the church.

The choir is always giving a special touch to each and every one of our celebrations and liturgies especially in the Sunday masses, where the apostleship actions and our service to God begins and eternally continues.
